I want to implement a callback function in RPG by passing an RPG procedure pointer to a C function in a service program. The RPG "callback" subprocedure needs to receive a pointer to a data structure that is passed by the C function. I understand conceptually how I need to do this and I have done this before in C. But I am having trouble handing off the procedure pointer to the C function from RPG where the C function recognizes the type of pointer when it arrives.

Hi, Take a look at PROCPTR and %PADDR. (BTW, it works as I used the same with the Notes APIs where an RPG procedure was processing a result set).

Have you declared the procedure pointer as a VALUE parameter in the procedure prototype?
