Hi all,

 I am trying to retrieve the current time from the iSeries using VB 6 or vb.net.  

 Can anyone shed some light on how to do this?

I may be way off base here (that may have happened once or twice before), but you may want to look at setting up NTP serving on the IBM i. Then, your PC client can specify the i as its time server, and getting the local PC time via VB will get you the IBM's time.

I thought about that, but I am hoping that there is a way to just see the time and date in a vb program on the iSeries without setting up anything.
