Our shop is using Scott Klement's JDBCR4 service program with great success for making Java connections to a server. My dilemma is this:
I am currently using this service program in an interactive environment. Occassionally, the connection cannot be made to the server so logic has been programmed into the application to do some alternative processing when that occurs. However, the EXCEPTIONDESCRIBE and SLEEP procedures in procedure JNI_CHECKERROR result in the error messages being displayed on the screen for the required sleep time. My preference is for the user to not see these messages nor experience this delay. Without modifying JDBCR4, does anyone know of a method that can be used to suppress these messages or trap the errors before they are displayed to the user?
Thanks in advance for your input.
