We have CA Version 5 Release 4 Modification Level 0. 

When I go into iSeries navigator and sign on and then attempt to view a file or a spool file I will sometimes get the error:

"AFP Workbench Viewer has stopped working.  A problem caused the program ot stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

and sometime I am able to view the file. I cannot correlate this with certain files or anything else. It also happens with other users.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Havn´t seen that problem, but the AFP Workbench Viewer is not very often updated. Fixes for the AFP Viewer do not seem to be included with the IBM i Access/Client Access fixpacks because it is a separate product IBM bundled with IBM i Access. IBM ships version 2.02.02.02 with IBM System i Access 6.1, don't know which version they ship with 5.4.

You can get version 2.02.02.05 (ftd2020205) here: ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/afpviewer/

Don't know if that will solve your problem, but you could give it a try.
